Weight today 71.3kgs. Would like to loose another couple of kilo's, then I would be a neat size 12, but if it doesn't I am happy to stay were I am now.

If and when I have a tummy tuck, I guess they would remove a couple of kilo's of skin.

Slowing Down

Weight today is 72.1kgs. I have now been in the 72's for a couple of weeks, not sure if the weight loss is slowing naturally or if it is because I have been hitting the gym every day for the last two weeks. The trainer said that I am building lean body mass - muscle.

I have an appointment with my surgeon on Wednesday.

Now wearing size 12 to 14 in clothes.

Over the next couple of months I have two weddings, an engagement party and a retirement party to attend. I have hit the shops looking for clothes. Bought my first little black dress, size 14, a pair of purple 3" stilettos and a purple jacket to wear to the first weddings in March.

For the retirement function this Thursday, I found a beautiful green and bone top to wear with a pair of black crepe pants and black stilettos (I still have to buy these).

The money I save on food, I use to buy clothes. It is so nice to be able to buy from a "normal" shops.

55 and Livin' in the low 70's

Just had my 55th Birthday. Friends said it wouldn't be long till my weight and my age are the same. Hopefully only my age will increase from here on.

Weight today is 72.6kgs.

It is really funny how the weight can stagnate for a couple of weeks then all of a sudden is drops again. Just before my trip to Bali I was 80kgs, (and it seemed like it took forever to get down out of the 80's) so I have lost 7.4kgs in two months.

Not sure were it will stop. Originally my dietitian said my goal weight would be between 65 & 69kgs, but given that it is still dropping at a steady rate and that I still feel that could comfortably get down to about 60kgs. I am only 5'2" tall (or short)

Latest Food Fad - Satay Chicken and brown rice. I buy it from my local Chinese Take Away and the have it over the next couple of days, either for lunch or dinner. One $14 meal lasts for at least 3 meals, now that is economical.

73's

I'm now down to 73.6kgs. Wow what a journey this has been.
Since the New Year began, I have been able to catch up with some friends that I had not seen in the last 12 months. All were really surprised at my weight loss. All were really pleased for the new me. One even saying that I looked 20 years younger. I did tell her that she needed to get her eyes checked as I only feel 10 years younger.

I am starting a savings fund for the tummy tuck and boob job that I will need in the next 18 month. The loose skin is not as much as I thought it would be, the boobs are the worst, thank God for bra's.

2010 - Back to Work

Well with Christmas over and back to work, I am feeling really good as my weight loss is continuing at a slow but steady pace. Now down to 74.1kgs.

Over the Christmas period I ate a few things that have been off the menu ie chocolate covered almonds, Christmas cake. I must say that I did eat in moderation as I was paranoid that I would either put weight on or get a dose of 'Dumping'.

I have been looking after my grandson for the last couple of days, he is 6 and full of energy. We went fishing and flying kites, when the rain let up. No need to go to the gym when I have him around to keep me on my toes.

It is so good to be able to keep up with him now.

For Christmas I was given mainly gift vouchers (my request) so that I could replenish my wardrobe. My sister and I hit the sales at Erina, after Boxing Day. Bought some really nice Sportscraft capri length (nearly long on me) pants in size 14. And as all the Bond's big girl undies, that I used to wear, are now like sailing boat sails on me now, I was able to replace them with lovely lacy size 14's.

My next purchase will be some good clothes as I have a couple of weddings coming up, one in March the other in April.

Also went to a clairvoyant, Jackie, she is one of the most accurate that I have been too (mind you I have only been now to 3). Amongst other things she said she could see me travelling to Canada & Alaska, also China and Bali again. I did ask were the money was coming from and she said "they will provide", so I raced out and bought a Lotto ticket in the big $30 million draw, but I guess the travel isn't happening yet as I didn't win a thing.

One More Bits the Dust

One more kilo gone, now down to 75.6kgs. Yesterday it was 6 months exactly since my operation and I have lost over 32kgs. I have lost over 40 if you count the 10kgs I lost prior to the surgery.

I have been to a couple of Christmas functions this last week and am pleased to report that I am not overly tempted by the foods that I would normally have pigged out on.

I try and eat mainly the turkey, a little ham, a couple of prawns and a baked potato. Ham does not always sit nicely in my stomach, I think it is the salt content that makes my stomach bubble and gurgle. The dietitian did tell me early on, that pork is one of the hardest meats to digest and that I should stay away from it if possible.

This week I am one of the guest speakers at my surgeons seminar for people interested in having one of the 3 surgical options. There will be a gental man that has had the banding, a lady that had the gastric sleave and myself representing the gastric bypass.

This will be my last blog until the new year. I do wish you all a Happy, Healthy Holiday Season.

Don't over do it. Remember 'You eat to live, NOT live to eat'.

Eat to Live NOT Live to Eat

I am utterly amazed that I have lost another couple of kilos'. My weight this morning was 76.8. My goal weight range is 65 - 69 kgs, so not far to go till I reach the upper goal range. It is very exciting and all this since 13th June 09.

Before I went away the loss had slowed down to a trickle. Must have been the little bits of spicy food I ate in Bali that has tripped me along again on the road to my goal weight.

So far I have not regretted for one minute having had the surgery. I have not experienced any of the severe "Dumping" that I was warned of prior to surgery. I think this is because I have been very diligent in watching what I eat, always high quality food, high in protein. This is not to say that I have not had the occasional sweet, biscuit or an ice cream, but I have been careful not to over indulge, as I didn't want the "Dumping" to happen. On the one occassion that I had two squares of chocolate, I did get a minor case of the runs.

Food: I find that I am eating a lot of Chicken, mostly I stir fry a little chicken with some veggies and mushrooms, serving it in a little Chinese bowl makes me feel like eating is special. Steak has to be very tender for me not to feel uncomfortable after eating a little of it. Stews are OK as the meat is normally really tender.

A normal day for me is to have Uncle Toby's Oats (about 3 tablespoons) with Skim Milk; Yogurt for morning tea; Oriental Crepe with sweet chili sauce (only eat about a 1/4 of it at lunch, one lasts me two days); rice crackers for afternoon snack or a few grapes; Stir Fried Chicken and Veggies with Oyster Sauce sprinkled over it; after dinner I will occasionally have a yogurt ice block.

I do try to make sure that I drink my 1.5 litres of water, some of this can be made up of tea, coffee or diet soft drinks.
